Drawings

Here are some of our drawings. We both have a history in drawing and illustration but now mainly we use this skill to help find a look for a character. We love to draw and do very often. Over the next few weeks we will post a bunch of stuff from our sketch book and from past projects. Hope you enjoy.

The 2010 Fantasia film festival will be showing two Beans and Bueller shorts. We feel super lucky to be able to participate in this awesome festival.  Some of our favorite films have premiered at the event including Inglorious Basterds and Let the Right One In. So many great films will be showing and we cant wait to meet some of the other participants and film makers. Our submissions will be our newest short Contacting Kevin and our animated neurotic little boy Bryan in Bedtime for Bryan. We will post times and venues for the screening after the July 29th program unveiling. Thanks to everyone who helped make these shorts come to life!

Ryan made a series of amazing “boxes”.  Here is one of them.  Wood, antique brass hardware and a cool old wheel from Nichole.

Happy and FAt

Meet Bobby Joe, a good friend of Chug’s. He is fat and also likes to smoke. He comes from Miami and is afraid of dogs and most vegetables.

This guy was a pleasure to make.  He was for a good friend who’s only criteria was that the sculpture be “super fat”.  Once we got the shape and head sculpted, we looked into our vast collection of clothes we no longer wear to put together his outfit.  Jogging pants seemed like the best option for the fattest man which we sewed up out of an old hoodie sleeve and my beloved Rio De Janeiro t shirt that had become transparent from so many wears.  This seemed like the best alternative to throwing it away which i never had the heart for.

The bad man denim vest was fashioned from the leg off a pair of  jean shorts in Ryan’s drawer which i insisted he buy about 7 years ago.  Of course he never wore them due to their well above the knee length. He said they made him feel like someone’s creepy uncle (he was right). Lastly, Bobby’s hair is represented by a patch of dead animal fur. Top quality mind you.  Sheared Sable.

Next we move on to my favorite part of any outfit: accessories. Wedged between his sausage fingers, we have a mini felt donut which i did sew and some smokes that Ry made. Nice.

Finally, in his right hand and (elastic) waistband, red kool aid (in a real glass glass, kool aid is silicone) and a cig.  Boom, there you have it.  Bobby Joe, Miami, Spring Break forever!
