This guy has been hanging around lately and completely distracting us from any work! But he’s been the source of some serious inspiration so I guess he can stay.
Right now we’ve got a few projects on the go. An art show on the 29th of July called Summer Rental that we will have more info about soon, but we’re teaming up with our good friend and colleague Shannon Gillette. Should be good!
The most exciting thing right now is a TV show that we’re developing with our new management. We’ve already gone into production for the teaser pilot and we are aiming to shoot in early August. We can’t say too much about it right now, but basically it will be composed of a series of short segments. It definitely involves puppets, a dog, a drunk and perhaps a hologram.
We also get to team up with the incredibly talented Jim Randall who will be responsible for constructing our puppets and making them amazing! Jim blew us away last year when made our cable controlled skeleton head for a music video (that has yet to be released). These photos are of the mechanism in the head which manipulated the head from left to right, up and down and also the eyes and mouth…all from a remote control and all of it with cables…similar to brakes on a bicycle. I should also mention that Jim made this mech from scratch in his home studio. Our new puppets will be much simpler for this pilot, but you can bet that they’ll be top notch. We are so lucky to have met a seasoned professional like Jim and we can’t wait to see what he does this time around!
Our little short film “Contactin Kevin” is almost done! F/X are in and now we’re waiting on the sound design. We hope to premier it at our art show, but not making any promises. We’ll post more updates soon!
