I wanted to talk about a movie we bought recently called Ghoulies. If you grew up in the 80′s like us, then you’ll for sure remember this cover from the video store. I’ve written about Conan and the Thriller video, I would have to categorize this one as another film my parents should have had some reservations about. In fact we rented this together as a family. I was around 7 years old. By now I’d already seen Nightmare On Elm Street and Halloween 2, so some puppet monsters in an old mansion was considered tame i guess.

The actual movie is not all that, but it has some awesome 80′s style practical effects which I love about all old horror flicks. The “ghoulies” puppets are kind of pitiful but I’ll take a hurting puppet over a CG digi monster any old day. The only scene i truly remember being scary back then was the part when the sexy lady chokes some guy out with her tongue. At the time I found it oddly resembled a fruit roll up. I was 7.  Again, parents, wtf?!
